Successfully supporting RMHCK means engaging a diverse range of stakeholders – from patient families to donors to the community at larger. We also work to build consistent buy-in and coordination among internal teams, all while navigating the unique concerns of an organization that supports families during a healthcare journey. This was also our first opportunity to work alongside Fieldtrip. Leading to successful collaboration across multiple clients since.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana (RMHCK) needed help bringing consistency to their messaging both internally and externally. The house had also completed a major expansion just days before COVID hit, which added complexity as they returned to normal operations. RMHCK engaged FDLC to design an overall communications plan and help execute the strategies around internal communications, earned media and crisis response.

FDLC began by creating a voice and tine guide, formalizing social media policies, and updating RMHCK’s emergency communications plan. We designed a social media workflow, produced a series of videos, conducted staff training and provided contestant consultation. We also strengthened relationships with local media and secured numerous positive story placements. In the second year, we also took on graphic design and paid media, leveraging our relationships to secure tens of thousands of dollars in added media value. Today, FDLC is an integral part of the RMHCK team at multiple levels.
